Browsing and destination searches
You can read the main site without creating an account. Search terms, filters and comparisons are handled in your browser. This browser can remember recent destination searches and viewed destination IDs for up to 30 days, keeping up to 12 search terms and 24 viewed places. These records power recent-search controls and personalized destination cards; they are stored locally rather than in an account or public report database. A search included in a page URL may also be visible in browser history and technical request logs. Avoid entering personal or sensitive information into destination searches.
Traveler ratings
Rating an experience requires signing in with ChatGPT through Sites. We store your site-specific user ID, the experience, your 1–5 rating and its update time in our database. You can change your rating; each signed-in user contributes one rating per experience. Other visitors see the average and number of ratings, not your user ID or individual rating. Your own selection is shown only to you when signed in. Contact us above for questions or deletion requests.
Technical delivery
Our hosting and network providers process requests to deliver and protect the site. Technical request information can include an IP address, requested URL, time and browser or device details. The site is delivered through Sites hosting and Cloudflare infrastructure. Provider handling and retention are governed by their services; we do not promise a separate fixed retention period for their logs.
Fonts, photography and external links
Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, and some homepage photographs load from Unsplash. These services receive the request information needed to deliver those resources. Destination notebook photographs are hosted with this site. Opening a source link takes you to another provider’s website and its privacy practices.
Cookies and browser storage
The site cannot read your browsing history from other websites. We use only activity within Before You Roam for these recommendations. Delete an individual recent search or clear all search terms in the homepage search menu. “Clear activity & reset suggestions” also removes the locally saved viewed places. We use Google Tag Manager to manage Google Analytics and measure visits and interactions such as guide engagement, saved activities and affiliate-link clicks. Google receives technical information when its tags load, which may include page URLs, IP address and browser or device details. Our custom interaction events do not include profile names, travel dates, search text or account identifiers. Browser privacy settings, consent settings where configured, and content blockers can affect measurement. An affiliate-link click does not tell us whether you completed a booking. Google privacy information. Hosting providers may use technical security mechanisms. The older demonstration explorer, if opened directly, uses local browser storage for saved places, theme preferences and demo reports. Those demo reports are not submitted to a public report database. You can remove that stored information through your browser’s site-data controls.
When you email us
Emailing us shares your email address and the content you choose to send. We use that information to respond, assess corrections or handle your request. Email is processed through the services used by you and our inbox provider. Please limit what you send to what is needed for your question.
Your choices and requests
You can browse without submitting a report, clear browser history and site data, and control external-resource loading using browser settings. To ask about information you have sent us, or request access, correction or deletion, contact us at the email above. Any rights and exceptions depend on the applicable law and the information involved.

Weather and unit preferences
Destination pages request a forecast estimate from MET Norway using the destination’s public coordinates, not your device location. Your browser connects to that service, which receives its normal connection information, including your IP address and our site’s origin. We do not ask for your location.
Your temperature and precipitation unit choices, 12h/24h clock preference, and a compact short-lived weather cache, stay in this browser’s local storage. Clear this site’s browser data to remove them. Seasonal climate data is bundled with the site; it does not require a request to NASA when you view a page.
Packing planner
Travel dates and packing choices are processed on this page in your browser. The planner does not upload or save your dates or checked items. Reloading the page clears them. You may print or download your checklist yourself.
Emergency and U.S. consular information is bundled with each destination page. U.S. nationality is an assumed display default; the site does not request or store passport details.
